Opened in 1992 and continually upgraded, The Emerald Hotel is located in the midst of one of Bangkok's busiest commercial and entertainment hubs. Unlike most major cities there is no "central or downtown" Bangkok.. Instead there are three or four different areas of the city which all provide shopping, entertainment and business facilities. The Emerald Hotel is in one of these areas on Rachadapisek Road, locally abbreviated to "Rachada". The hotel is conveniently located within 2 minutes walk from one of Bangkok's new underground (MRT) stations, making it quickly accessible to almost any part of the city. Train journeys ranging from 10- 20 minutes will take you to some of the other well known areas - Sunhumvit & Siam Square. Using the MRT and above ground Sky Train connection you can also easily get to Chaopaya River where river cruise boats depart regularly from underneath the station. Travelling in the opposite direction on the MRT from the hotel you can also directly access Bangkok's famous Weekend Market - Chatuchak. This 620 room hotel has well appointed rooms and suites in two buildings. From Instructions from the Major Airport to the Hotel: Hotel limousine services are available for all guests. However, if you are driving from the airport you should follow the signs out of the airport to the "Chon Buri - Bang Na" tollway. This is an elevated freeway system directly connecting the airport to the city. Stay on the tollway, passing through two tollway booths, and exit at the "Rama IX off ramp." This ramp exits into "Rama IX" Road which then intersects Rachadapisek Road, where after a right hand turn into Rachadapiskek, The Emerald Hotel will be five minutes drive on the left hand side of the road. All signs and directions are in Thai & English and highly visible.
From From SOUTH and or NORTH: If arriving into Bangkok from the north, exit the main north/south freeway system onto Rachadapisek Road. The exit signs will appear approximately five - ten minutes after driving past the (now closed) Don Muang Airport. Drive down Rachadapisek as far as Huai Kwang where the hotel will appear on the right hand side of the road. A U-turn will be necessary. Alternatively, stay on the north/south highway or freeway and exit at Din Daeng. Turn left on to Rachadapisek Road and the hotel will appear on the left hand side after five minutes drive. If arriving from the south. Continue on the city freeway system and exit at Din Daeng. Turn on to Rachadapisek Road at the Rama IX intersection and the hotel will be five minutes drive on the left hand side after passing Carrefour & Robinson's.
From From EAST and or WEST: If arriving into Bangkok from the north, exit the main north/south freeway system onto Rachadapisek Road.
