Hotel Description

Langholmen Hotel was once a prison. The hotel is housed in the old Crown Prison, which was built in the early 19th century. In the middle of the building is the attractive gallery dating from 1866. This has given us the hotel's beautiful, open atrium. In 1975, the last prisoner was discharged and in May 1989 we opened the hotel after two years' renovation work. The cells are now pleasingly and functionally furnished, each with its own shower, WC, telephone, radio and cable TV. We have 89 single and 13 double cells, of which 10 have facilities for the disabled. All our cells are smokefree. The old prison entrance hall has been converted into a reception, with a cafeteria open 24 hours a day. Times change, and staying in a cell is now a captivating experience. We promise to give you your own key, and that breakfast consists of more than bread and water.

Conference Facilities Langholmen Conference is designed for guests who seek an unusual and historically interesting conference venue. Since Langholmen was once a prison, you as a conference organiser undoubtedly have plenty of questions to ask. The hotel part of the complex consists of the old Crown Prison. Langholmens Restaurant Langholmen Restaurant is housed in the Alstavik residence, which dates from the 1670s. Here, you can enjoy tasty and well-prepared food in a historically captivating setting. As a guest, you can choose between several cosy seating areas.In the summer, you can visit our restaurant patio, with a barbecue and simple dishes on the menu. In December, Langholmen�s traditional Swedish Christmas buffet is served, with a wealth of dishes to choose from, in a warm and agreeable ambience. Mulled wine is served in the restaurant�s covered patio, with winter decorations.

Pub Finkan (The Nick) In autumn and winter, you will enjoy a visit to our pub Finkan (�The Nick�), after a walk. The pub is open every day, and serves cold refreshments and simple hot dishes, as well as beverages. Hours of Operation: Monday to Saturday 5:00pm to 12:00am(midnight)

Cafe Rastgarden(The exercise-yard cafe) Cafe with patio. Here, you can relax with a cup or coffee or play boules in the old exercise yard. Besides coffee we serve soft drinks, buns, sandwiches and hot dogs. Hours of Operation: 7 days a week from 11:00am to 5:00pm during Summer

From Arlanda Airport Stockholm: Take motorway E4 direction South, once in Stockholm follow signs Tosodermalm. Cross Langholmsbron bridge. Turn left and follow the wall towards the Crown Prison entrance. There are parking spaces inside the walls of the complex where guests can park free of charge. Ask for a parking permit at the hotel reception or conference reception, or in the restaurant, and follow the parking instructions.
