Deluxe (Deluxe Room) Deluxe rooms are designed to express the traditional Japanese aesthetic values and reflect their reverence for nature. Natural textiles and fabrics detail elements of forest and water: twigs, partrinia and fallen leaves motifs appear in wallpapers and soft covers. The bathrooms are absolutely luxurious yet true to the Japanese instinct for understatement. Divided from the room by a spread of glass, one flick of a blind reveals a clear sight right across the Citys east towards Tokyo Bay, these rooms are between floors 30 and 33. Approximately 50 square metres/530 square feet.
Premier Deluxe (Other room type than std, dlx, ste, ... etc.) Situated from floors 33 to 36 these rooms offer the highest views across the open expanse of East Side Tokyo and the citys residential area. Of course as impressive as it is this urban view does not reflect the heart of the Japanese aesthetic, which is centred on nature and the harmonious principles of forest and water. It is these details that are reflected in the room, be it the washi, a Japanese paper, used in the light shades, the grain of the walnut wood floor or the fall of the rainforest shower. All of our rooms incorporate seamless technology, wired and wireless broadband, superb surround sound systems and vitally the smoothest Egyptian cotton bed sheets introduced by any hotel in Japan. Approximately 50 square metres/530 square feet.
Mandarin Deluxe (Other room type than std, dlx, ste, ... etc.) Looking out of the West facing windows from floors 30 to 33 you have a sense of Tokyos unique evolution from the historical district which has grown since the 17th century Edo period to the glittering sky rise of today. The interiors of the Mandarin Deluxe rooms reflect the Japanese affinity with the natural world in textiles and fabric and our pleasure in providing the ultimate comforts; luxury, privacy and the special details. The rooms ensure you have a distinct sense of Japan whilst enjoying every anticipated luxury of a Mandarin Oriental hotel. Situated on the higher floors, 34 to 36 with excellent views across the city towards the Imperial Palace and Gardens.Approximately 50 square metres/530 square feet.
Mandarin Grand (Other room type than std, dlx, ste, ... etc.) Grand and larger these rooms offer a definite feeling of space, which is enhanced by the glass separating the room and bathroom. A twist of the blind and natural light floods the bathroom with views on a clear day as far as Mount Fuji. Guests will appreciate a unique sense of place. Our design clearly reflects the Japanese aesthetic values. An affinity for nature; fabric details feature twigs, seed or patrinia motifs or the smooth to touch bamboo flooring which enhances the overall sense of light. Their distinctive reliance on the beauty of individual things is expressed in a few exquisite pieces; a rare stencil of a Yukata draws the eye or the washi Japanese paper woven into the light shade. A sense of place, a feeling of space and Mandarin Oriental luxury.Approximately 60 square metres/642 square feet.
Premier Grand (Other room type than std, dlx, ste, ... etc.) These spacious rooms include a large walk in wardrobe. Every anticipated technology and comfort is provided from wireless broadband to the highest quality Egyptian cotton bed sheets introduced into a Japanese hotel. The difference as ever in a Mandarin Oriental hotel is our unique sense of place. You will find this in the details: Japanese lacquer-ware presentation boxes containing a fine Yukata, or the delicate fabrics used to cover the ceilings with details of nature, specifically revered by the Japanese culture, or the pale bamboo wood floors that spread light through the rooms.Views from the 34 to 36 floor extend through the high rise of Shinjuku and down to the historic Tokyo station only 12 minutes walk from the hotel. Approximately 60 square metres/642 square feet.
Mandarin Corner (Other room type than std, dlx, ste, ... etc.) As you enter these rooms you are confronted with a tremendous view through the triptych windows across Tokyo, as far as Tokyo Bay. Two glass walls stretch the length and breadth of the room, one right through to the bathroom. The bathroom is designed to maximise the view, with the sunken bath placed right against the glass wall guests can recline and gaze down to the city up to 36 floors below. Grey and white marble stripes give a light Italianate finish but the details are sympathetic to the Japanese aesthete; in the rooms you will find burnished lacquer-ware boxes, a fine Yukata and carefully selected pieces of local art. Connecting rooms are available for larger parties
Executive Suite (Suite) Light streams in through the generous glass windows of these suites. The rollscreens behind the chenille weave curtains are fine and interplay with the natural light, which reaches the bathroom. They are created from textiles containing water imagery, repeating the hotel forest and water theme and again in the soft furnishings and ottoman, which are embroidered with patrinia motifs. The rare Isegata hung on the wall is an original yukata stencil and part of a unique collection by Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo. Yukatas represent many things, specifically the Japanese culture of hospitality but also the appreciation of the singular beauty of an individual piece. The suites plan is versatile and the rooms well equipped. The bedroom has twin double beds, built in wardrobe, make up table and twin sinks. The living room is very spacious with a separate entrance area and powder room for guests. Guests will feel extremely comfortable settling into this room for longer stays. Approximately 90 square metres/964 square feet.
Mandarin Suite (Suite) The Mandarin Suites are laid out with the business persons requirements in mind. Guests enter the living room, which has a specific interview and office area, as well as a softer relaxing space. The seating areas are entirely separate from the bedroom with their own powder room, ensuring guests privacy. Connecting rooms are available. The design expresses the traditional Japanese values of understatement and reserve whilst reflecting our guests appreciation of luxury. The views include the historic area around Tokyo station, just 12 minutes walk away and the original shopping district, which has been evolving since the 17th century Edo period. These suites are designed with Mandarin Orientals vision of continuity from the past to present and future. Approximately 100 square metres/1070 square feet.
Oriental Suite (Suite) The interiors are calming, reminiscent of forest glades. The curtains are a chenille weave in a motif of quercus serrata branches. The bed coverings are a soft, smooth fabric decorated in a tree-leaf theme, conjuring an image of lying down in a bed of fallen leaves. This is the atmosphere and level of comfort we wish to provide our guests of the Oriental Suite. The huge living area includes a lazy chair and ottoman. Connecting rooms are available for families or larger parties. Situated on the higher floors with a glass wall that stretches the length of the suite with views as far as Mount Fuji or the elegant Imperial Palace and Gardens, which is walking distance from the hotel. Approximately 100 square metres/1070 square feet.
Presidential Suite (Suite) The Presidential Suite is designed to impress guests with the highest expectations. You will see it in the fabrics and materials, the intelligent room layout, the outstanding spa bathroom and of course the service, with dedicated staff providing a discrete attendance. The rooms are vast and the layout is purposefully versatile with one or two bedroom options, still allowing for a 33 square meter master bedroom and a sizeable walk-in wardrobe. Ever since Mitsukoshi opened a fabric shop here more than 300 years ago, the stories of Nihonbashi and the kimono have been intertwined. The unique Isegata, a pattern for Yukata, mounted on the wall is a collectors piece and master artisans were commissioned to create many original fabrics for these rooms expressing the artistic and cultural traditions of Japan. The details throughout the rooms epitomise rare luxury. The Japanese have an appreciation for the singular beauty of individual pieces which then come together in an exhilarating harmony; this will symbolise your stay in our Presidential Suite.
